This Is My Biography… The Short Version
Hello! My name is Selene M. Bowlby
I’m a web designer and front-end web developer with ten years of professional experience in the design industry.
Early Exposure
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always held an interest for art and design. I was lucky enough to have been exposed to computers since the age of three, when my father got his first computer - a TRS-80.
Little did I know, but this early exposure to computers would lead to my current career passion - computer aided design…
specifically web design.
From Print to Web
I majored in graphic design in college, where at this point the internet was nothing more than a hobby for me. My career goal at that time was creating designs for print, such as advertisements, corporate identity, brochures, etc.
As I dabbled more in the emerging technology of the internet, my interest in the web grew tremendously. By the time I graduated, I was 100% positive that I wanted to focus on web design.
All For Love
I officially moved to Florida after graduation, where I took on a full-time job with a graphic and web design company. My love of web design was so strong, though, that I’ve always done it as more than just a 9-5 job. I freelanced as a web designer in my spare time, officially founding iDesign Studios in 2001.
I worked at the same company for nine years, finally moving on in June 2008, so that I could pursue my goal of running my own business full time.
