Design Contest - Please Vote for Me!

…Me!

All I can say is Wow! I am completely thrilled, and very pleasantly surprised to find out that I’m the winner of 5 Minutes for Mom’s Ultimate Blog Party Design Contest!

I know that I had the voting help of a lot of friends and family, and hopefully a few of my readers here as well. Thank you so much for those of you that voted!

To be honest, I didn’t think I stood a chance, because the comments on the original design contest post did not seem to favor me at all.

Apparently it was a very tight race, though - I won by ONE, yes 1 point. LOL.

There were a lot of great designs posted in the contest, so again, I’m thrilled to be the “official” designer for this year’s Blog Party!

I submitted several different sizes, but the two official banners are below. I’ll be creating a few more sizes for these - including the “Welcome” banner for the event itself. I hope that you get involved with the Utimate Blog Party - it sounds like a lot of fun!

Thanks again to everyone who voted for me - you’ve certainly made my day! And special thanks to From the Park Bench for encouraging me to enter the contest in the first place!

Edit: Here are the final banners that were submitted after some slight modification…

Design Contest - Please Vote for Me!

I’m hoping for a little bit of help from you all today!

I just submitted a few banner ad designs for 5 Minutes for Mom. They are hosting the Ultimate Blog Party in March, and had a competition to design the buttons and banners that they will be using to promote this year’s party.

They just posted the finalists today, and I am one of them!

So, now I’m asking for your help!

If you can spare a few minutes, I ask that you please visit the link below to view all of the contest entries. There are 11 contestants - I’m the last one on the page.

Calling Card Competition

Link Love

FreelanceSwitch and GoMedia are hosting a calling card competition. I have to admit this one looks like fun, even though it is a print project. The idea is to use one (or more) of the free vector art samples from GoMedia and incorporate it into a calling card. This is basically a more personalized business card - at least in terms of style.

The calling card defines YOU, not your business. The contact information listed is very brief (if any). From what I’ve seen, it tends to be limited to just your web and email addresses - as opposed to a business card which lists your mailing address and phone number(s) as well.

The deadline is November 17th… lets see if I can come up with something cool enough to submit before then. It would be nice to have a more ‘fun’ personal card. But then again, I hardly ever use my business cards to begin with. Besides that, how do you go about deciding if you want to hand out the business card or the calling card, lol?

Anyway, some good food for the mind by giving myself another design project. I’m certainly not expecting to win (there will only be 2 winners out of what I’d imagine to be thousands of entries). But still, it does sound like fun. :)
