WEBDRIVE!!! I have found this software to be indispensable in my web design arsenal. It is especially useful when using graphics design programs such as photoshop, where you are using “save for web & devices” often. It will save directly to your hosting server as if it is an external hard drive or USB flash drive. I don’t work for them or get paid to promote them or anything. I just thought I would mention this tool!

Excellent resource, thanks! Saw it mentioned above, but agreed, the FF developers toolbar has saved more than a few projects from heading down the wrong avenue before it’s too late.

hi everybody,
I have just finished development of my own firefox plugin which can be used in web development. It crawles through defined domain and validates each found page. It is best to use together with HTML Validator, beacause it will show particular errors in source code. Please try and review it. It is available to download here: https://addons.mozilla.org/sk/firefox/addon/11485
Right now is it in sandbox as a testing version. I hope you will like it.

@Project Runway Philippines – I’m glad you found this post, and the 6 Phases post to be helpful!

@Jason – That is a good question. I’m not sure about PNG-24 alpa transparency with this script. All I can say is the best thing is to give it a shot and see if it works. If so, I hope you’ll come back and let us know!

@Eneza – Thank you! Browser shots comes in quite handy. On your reference to No-Follow tag, is that for the link to browsershots.org – because there is no “nofollow” tag on that one. Right now I have the default WordPress setting which puts the nofollow tag on comments (I’ve been debating switching to “follow” though…)

Great list. Does the IE6/png fix you listed also cover PNG-24 alpha transparency? I can’t find anything anywhere that allows me to use an alpha’d ‘shadow’ gradient over a background color and have it work in IE6.

Thank you ALL for such great feedback on the post! You’ve shared some more links that I’ll have to check out for myself. There are of course more that I use as well, but with this post I wanted to highlight the ones that are absolute MUST HAVE’s.

It looks like the Firefox web developer toolbar is something I’ll definitely need to add to my list!

Great links everyone – thanks for sharing! If anyone has additional helpful links that they use, I’m sure we can all benefit from them as well – so please keep sharing!

@Patrick Sweeney – LOL on the music – when I need to really get in the zone, I’ve got to have some music blasting as well. I might have to give Foobar a try, too – I adore the fact that the first few screenshots of their software are of a TOOL album (check out my profile on Last.fm and you’ll see why, LOL.

@Alek – LOL, time is such an issue… probably why I haven’t been able to put out more than 1 or 2 posts a month (oops!)

@tommy – every once in a while I’ll get a comment (or three) about the light on dark text. I’m planning a theme switch option where users can select the default theme, or switch to a dark on light version that will be easier on the eyes. Hopefully I’ll be able to do this sooner than later. I appreciate the feedback though!
