It is generally recommended to set up Google Analytics so you can track detailed site statistics, such as how many visitors you are getting to the site, how they are finding you, what are the most popular pages, etc.
If you don’t already have an account, you can create one for free at Google Analytics. Please find instructions below on generating the Tracking ID and Tracking Code either for a brand new Google Analytics account or by adding a new site to your existing account.
Create a New Google Analytics Account

– Create a new account at Google Analytics
– Click the blue Start Measuring button near the top of the page
– Type the name of your company in the Account Name field
– Select your data sharing options (you can select as few or as many as you are comfortable with)
– Hit the blue Next button
– Type the name of your company in the Property Name field
– Select your Time Zone
– Hit the blue Next button
– Answer the business questions (optional)
– Hit the blue Create button
– Accept the Terms of Service Agreement
– Select your Email Communication preferences (you can select as few or as many as you are comfortable with)
Add a Property
– Type the name of your company in the Property Name field
– Select your Time Zone
– Hit the blue Next button
– Answer the business questions (optional)
– Hit the blue Create button
– Accept the Terms of Service Agreement
– Select your Email Communication preferences (you can select as few or as many as you are comfortable with)
Add Your Website
– On the Data Stream section, select Web
– Enter your domain and company name in the URL and Stream Name fields
– Hit the blue Create Stream button
– Scroll down to the Tagging Instructions
– Select the Global site tag (gtag.js) dropdown
– Copy the code provided
Update an Existing Google Analytics Account
Add a Property
– Log in to your existing Google Analytics account
– Click the Admin (gear) icon in the lower-left corner
– Click the blue + Create Property button in the second column
– Type the name of your company in the Property Name field
– Hit the blue Next button
– Answer the business questions (optional)
– Hit the blue Create button
Add Your Website
– On the Data Stream section, select Web
– Enter your domain and company name in the URL and Stream Name fields
– Hit the blue Create Stream button
– Scroll down to the Tagging Instructions
– Select the Global site tag (gtag.js) dropdown
– Copy the code provided
